One last week for this school year…I’m a little in denial about this fact. We just celebrated Christmas! Didn’t we??? Believe it or not though, summer is here. Next Thursday evening, our 8th graders will graduate and move on to high school. If you have never attended graduation, I would highly encourage you to come celebrate our students. They invited Mrs. Shea to speak so they are looking forward to seeing her and I’m excited to spend some time with her too. If you are fairly new to Conejo, Mrs. Shea taught here for almost 20 years and we greatly miss her hugs, wisdom, and listening ear. Her presence next week is just one more reminder that life continues to change, and we learn to adapt to those changes even though we don’t always like the changes. Each year our 8th graders move on to a new phase of life and I always have mixed feelings. I’m sad they will no longer be on our campus but I’m happy we will always be a part of their history, just like Mrs. Shea is no longer teaching at Conejo but she is still an influence in the lives of her former students. Come join us next week to celebrate change and new beginnings! Happy Last Week of School Conejo Family!
