Love Well

A friend of mine posted a quote recently that I have read multiple times in the last several days.

Justice without love is legalism; faith without love is ideology;
hope without love is self-centeredness; forgiveness without love
is self-abasement; fortitude without love is recklessness; generosity
without love is extravagance; care without love is mere duty;
fidelity without love is servitude.

Every virtue is an expression of love. No virtue is really a virtue unless
it is permeated, or informed, by love.

-Richard Rohr

Love is the root of every good deed and word. Almost every morning during our courtyard prayer, I ask God to be with us as we enter the classrooms and help us to treat each other with kindness. There is no kindness without love. We need love to permeate our souls. God loves us all with an unconditional love that cannot be matched by any earthly being. We are loved. I pray we can acknowledge God’s love for us so we can love others well.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! 1 John 3:1 NIV
