Someone to Warm Your Heart

Published: February 13, 2020      Updated: February 13, 2020

Happy Almost Valentine’s Day! A day to celebrate and love on our family and friends. Do you have any special traditions in your family? I don’t remember exactly when my dad started to give me a Valentine’s present each year but I remember giant Hersey kiss in a box as a child. When I went away to college, something would arrive in the mail or flowers from a florist each Valentine’s Day. The girls in my dorm would get excited seeing flowers and could hardly wait to find out who sent them to me. They were always surprised to learn it was my dad.

The year after I got married, my dad didn’t send me flowers or chocolates. I don’t recall expressing disappointment out loud to him, but the next year, flowers arrived. To this day, I receive a present from my dad every year and I love it! I know my dad loves me but the knowledge that he plans ahead to send me a present warms my heart.

I hope you have someone in your life to warm your heart this Valentine’s Day and you can in turn express your love to those close to you too.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3: 14 NLT
