I truly believe God has a sense of humor. Yesterday afternoon, I was not in my best form and found myself grumbling about a wide variety of issues and people in my life. As my mind swirled around about all the “woe is me” circumstances in my life, I even went so far as to say out loud that I had evil in my heart. Do you ever catch yourself admitting you are in the wrong? I knew my thoughts were out of control, but I didn’t do a lot to correct my thinking and grumbling.
Fast forward to the Verse of the Day in my Bible app this morning.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139:23-24 NIV
My thoughts and ways were offensive and just in case I had any doubt, God sent me a personalized message this morning. Like I said, a sense of humor. Okay God. I heard you loud and clear. I’m thankful for a God who cares enough to parent me and correct me when I’m in the wrong.
