Just four more days! Are you ready? Monday is within sight but I’m glad we have a few days left to get everything in place. Last week, we had a slight emergency on campus when a water pipe for our fire service broke. Had the water stayed outside, it would have been an easier fix but unfortunately, it flooded about half of the preschool room which added a lot of things to fix to the list. However, there are so many reasons to be thankful for in this emergency.
First, Mr. Vazquez happened to be on campus at 6 AM and alerted me immediately that water was flowing down the driveway and shutting off the water main didn’t stop it. Second, Mr. Johnson saw my early morning text and was at school with helpers before I arrived and had turned off the fire water main. Third, Mr. Johnson had equipment to help get the water out of the classroom before it ruined the walls and furniture. Fourth, Mr. Gomez brought machines to help dry out the classroom and got them set up right away. Fifth, Mr. Lew’s co-worker stopped on his way home from the fire station to help and brought his pump to get the water out of the sandbox. Sixth, Mr. Johnson sent NPAA summer workers (Conejo graduates) and Mr. Ramroop to break up the concrete to find the leak. Seventh, Mr. Ramirez sent his crew to dig up the ground by the pipe, break more concrete, dig a bigger hole, locate the leak, fix the pipe, fill the hole, and finally replace the concrete! Eighth, Mr. Gomez came to clean and wax the floor. Ninth, Mr. Lew put the baseboard back on the walls. And tenth, Ms. Venessa and Ms. Eliza came to put preschool back together while Ms. Teresa is out on a medical leave.
Whew! That is a long list of thankfulness with the point being, God is good! The people that came to our rescue and the timing of it all is too miraculous to be anything but orchestrated by God. He turned what could have been a disaster into a bummer. The year hasn’t even begun but God is already at work. Be on the lookout for miracles this year!
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. Job 5:9 NIV
