Hurray! By now, I’m sure you have all seen the news! Ventura County moved from the purple tier to the red tier yesterday. What does that mean for CAES? If we can maintain our status in the red tier for the next two weeks, then our 7th & 8th graders will be able to join us on campus again for in-person classes! Hurray and hurray!!!
Thank you, 7th & 8th parents for being so supportive and patient. Prior to March 2020, I would have said patience was not a huge challenge for me. Patience is essential when you work with small children…actually, it is essential when you work with people, period. Patience, not a problem. However, I’ve found that I’m a lot less patient when it comes to situations. Since March, I’ve found myself getting more frustrated with life, with people, and to be honest, with God. Recently, Pastor Simon preached about silence from God. How did he know I needed to hear that message? Maybe a lot of us are in that same place. What is God doing when we don’t hear Him?
What is He doing? He is working. When I transitioned from teacher to principal, I suddenly saw the behind the scenes work I never saw as a teacher or as a parent. I saw situations through new eyes and realized most of the time when I was frustrated, I didn’t know even half the story. People were working behind the scenes on my behalf and on behalf of my children, but I could only see the situation from my perspective. My perspective is so small. Can you imagine if we could see the world through God’s eyes? If only…God is SO patient with me. If only I could remember He never stops working on my behalf, I know my patience with life situations would increase tenfold. Now if I can just remember I’m not in charge of the universe…
I believe I’ve shared these lyrics before but they fit my message once again.
Way Maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Yes, it is, it's who You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working
A blessed end of the week to you.
