Express Gratitude

Happy Early Mother’s Day to all our moms, grandmas, aunties, and other significant women in our lives! It is always a good idea to celebrate people who are important to us, so I hope you have the opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated either this weekend or in the near future. I’m not good at expressing my appreciation for others even though I have many thoughts of gratitude and appreciation for MANY people in my life. This week I received a very late Christmas letter from a friend. My friend expressed the importance of valuing people and expressing appreciation. Her father was quite ill the last few months of 2024, and she spent a lot of time on FaceTime with her dad and traveling back and forth between Utah and Indonesia. Just before the new year, her dad passed away. A good portion of her family Christmas letter was about her relationship with her dad and a great reminder to celebrate and treasure our family and friends.

It is not my strength to reach out to others despite my thoughts of good intentions. I’m determined to intentionally be better about expressing my appreciation and love for others. Hug somebody today or FaceTime a distant friend or relative and let them know you care about them.  Happy Mother’s Day!
