Happy Thursday! This week has been a mix of emotions for me as we move one week closer to the end of the school year. I have to say though I feel more blessed than stressed. Student Week of Prayer has been a beautiful gift to me. As I’m writing this, I’ve only had the opportunity to hear three of our five speakers but those three have each shared their hearts. On Monday, we were reminded of God’s call for us to refine our characters which is often through difficult times like the children of Israel wandering in the desert. Tuesday, our speaker shared some lessons learned from the mission trip and the value of people and time. He reminded us to be grateful and appreciative every day. The third speaker this week was so honest with his talk. Life is not easy and there are times we wonder where God is and if He cares about us. I was so impressed by his vulnerability in sharing about his journey with God. Listening to these students speak once again puts life in perspective for me much like my time in the Dominican Republic. Life is precious and short on earth, and I have the choice of how to spend my time and where to put my focus. I want to thank all our speakers this week for giving me thoughts to ponder, reasons to shift my mindset from negative to positive, and reminding me how much God cares about all of us.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 ESV
